It is hard to believe that it has been a month since I last posted an update! Jasen and I have been busy getting things in order for baby Raphael in hopes of getting things done early so we can relax and have some time before baby Raphael makes his appearance.
Right now baby Raphael is 25 weeks: Take a look at his development as of this week~
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.
It is crazy to think that I am already 6 months, and have almost finished my second trimester of pregnancy. It seems like just yesterday that I got the positive pregnancy test!
Me at 6 months! I feel really good, have energy for the most part, but am learning quickly when I have done too much for the day...because if I do I end up with sore feet, sore lower back, and just plain feel exhausted! It's such a hard balance because I feel like I have a ton of energy so I go and go and go to get things accomplished, but baby Raphael is teaching me to SLOW DOWN!!
In order to slow down, just for one day Jasen and I took a day trip up to the Tulip Festival. For those of you that really know me, you know I am "a planner", it is how I like to live, and how I function. This trip I decided not to plan a single thing, and we had the best time!! The weather was perfect, the fresh air was reviving, and listening to the birds chirp while driving through the country was the most relaxing thing that has happened in a long time. I know it sounds silly, but we live such busy lives that sometimes we miss out on all the little wonderful things. Here are a couple of pictures from our day trip.
As promised here are also a few pictures of the progress we have made so far on baby Raphael's nursery. We still have things to get, and I am waiting on my Glider that will go in the room, and we have some shelves to hang, but the room is really coming together, and we are so happy with it so far!

So as you can see we have been busy..here are the last few updates on how I am doing!!
Maternity Clothes? I can wear my tops, but have invested in maternity work pants, and a few maternity tops (which are big on me now, except the T-shirts)
Stretchmarks? None yet!! I look every night as I put on my tummy butter, and every day in the shower. I am not holding my breathe on walking away without a one!
Sleep? I am sleeping pretty well. I love my body pillow!! I do toss and turn every 2 hours because my lower back gets achy, and I usually have to pee at least 2 times a night!
Movement? Baby Raphael moves a lot! Usually at night when I slow down and relax and when I go to bed. Jasen finally got to feel him move about a week ago! He also saw my belly move a little when baby moved! His excitement is a moment I will never forget!
Food Cravings? None really, except the occasional sweet treat! Ice cream!!
Milestones? We attended our first pregnancy class together, and start our birthing classes this month!
What I miss? I really miss wine! I don't crave it a lot, but every once and awhile I wish I could have a nice cold glass of Moscato or Riesling!
Things I look forward to? Every week I look forward to my pregnancy massage! It has been so nice to just have some me time, and it really has helped with tension, headaches, and lower back aches. I am also excited because next month we are doing our Pregnancy Photos with Steve Schmidt who did our engagement and wedding photos!

I just love your blog! Baby Raphaels room is so adorable! I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your 26 weeks already! Time is flying by! You look great and so does the nursery. Isaiah has a monkey robe the matches! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe nursery looks awesome! I really like the closet organizer. And you look fantastic, too. Your little one will be here before you know it. I can't believe we're already packing up Lucas' newborn clothes. It goes too fast!!
