| 38 weeks pregnant |
With just a about 2 weeks to go, Jasen and I are anxiously awaiting our little guy to arrive. We are of course super excited but the anxiety is also starting to set in. Are we ready? What will life be like? When is he coming? Can we afford everything financially?
My biggest source of fear and anxiety has been having to go back to work so early after his birth. This week we made a decision to put our full faith and trust in GOD to provide for us, and I actually took a leave of absence for two months at work. So instead of going back October, I will return to work in December for two weeks, then have Christmas break, and then will go back full time in January. About 3 months off with my son sure beats 6 weeks. Financially this is a very scary decision for us to make, but it feels like the right thing emotionally and both of our hearts to do for our family.
My last doctors appointment was almost a week ago. At that time I was 50% effaced, outer cervix open, and inner cervix not dialed but very thin. No telling when he could come...Dr. McMillian said it could be any day now, or maybe not until after my due date. She said I am progressing quite well though. My next appointment is on Monday so we will see what she says then!
Jasen and I have been busy doing projects around the house and in the yard that have to be done before winter time. We figure we should get them done now while we still have a little time left before baby gets here! Along with doing home projects we have been also making time for mini dates and time to just hangout together. Here is a picture from our wonderful date night in Poulsbo last night!
| Date night in Poulsbo |
Sleep-sleeping pretty restless these days. Harder to roll from side to side, and many trips to the bathroom throughout the night.
Clothes and Shoes- dressing for comfort these days! I love comfy clothes, and who would have ever thought I would love tennis shoes so much! Those who know me, know that I love my heels and cute shoes. :)
Cravings- I love anything cold to eat these days! Salads, yogurt, ice cream, fresh peaches etc. Hot foods on these hot days are not that appealing to me!
Mood- For being 38 weeks pregnant I believe I am doing pretty good! I am finding myself more anxious as time draws nearer, and sometimes the littlest things annoy me that probably normally wouldn't.
Weight Gain- To date I have gained 25lbs. Dr McMillian doesn't think I will gain much more, and if I do I will remain right at the 30lb mark which is where she wanted me to be.
Be looking for more updates and hopefully labor progression this upcoming week! I will keep you posted after my doctors appt. Monday!
