It is with bittersweet emotions, and tear filled eyes that I write this blog tonight. Exactly 30 minutes after Karter was born one year ago.....This is Karter soundly sleeping just a few days after he was brought home, and this is him now....
The past week, and especially today I have found myself overwhelmed with emotions ranging from pure joy to extreme sadness. Sad that my baby isn't really a baby any more, sad that he is transitioning to the toddler room at daycare, sad that nursing is coming to an end, sad that this year flew by and he is growing faster than this Momma would like. Yet, on the other hand I am elated with joy for all the new things he is doing and saying, happy that he is independent and flourishing in development, happy that he is walking steps to me, excited for what is to come, and so happy and blessed to have him in our lives.
This past weekend we were blessed to have a wonderful birthday party with our closest family and friends present. I was reminded then just how much he is loved, and just how lucky we are to have such caring and loving people surrounding us. (Pics to come in next blog of birthday party)
As Karter's first birthday winds down I thought it was only appropriate to add his 12 month picture on the couch and his last pictures with Murray the Monkey. Enjoy!!!

| See Murray, I don't want to sit still for long, I can pull myself up, and stand on one foot faster than you can even get going.....I love you Murray but I am on to bigger and better things!! |
After dinner tonight, and before Jasen had to go to work we celebrated his official birthday with a cupcake. He definitely loves his sweets and must take after his mama that way! :)

I hope that you have enjoyed watching our little "Monkey" grow over this past year and hope you have been able to smile and laugh just as we have. Jasen and I feel so lucky to have you all in our lives. Thank you for taking the time to read this and follow the milestones of our family! I will keep up with the blog as I can, and continue to share to happenings, news, and developments of the Raphael family.
